The Role of the Instructor


Your mission is to teach. YOU must teach by leading and You must lead by example.

An instructor is always instructing - both on and off the floor. Whether he is aware of it or not, he is constantly being observed by his students wherein they tend to follow his example.

The following are 11 leadership skills that will apply to any group:

  1. Getting and giving Information
  2. Knowing and using the resources of the group
  3. Understanding the needs of the group
  4. Representing the group
  5. Setting the example
  6. Managing learning skills
  7. Planning
  8. Evaluating
  9. Controlling the group
  10. Sharing leadership
  11. Counseling
