Has the Federation outlived its Founding Purposes

Dear Federation Members: As many of you know I try to remain as nonpolitical as I can especially since I consider myself a guest on the scholar warrior page. Master AhPo recent article has promted me to express my feelings. I have known Master AhPo almost all of my Tang Soo Do life. He has always been an honorable, loyal, and passionate follower of Grand Master Hwang Kee. NO ONE! should or can refute that fact. At least those that know, KNOW! He has been the recipient of many slights over the years...one of which he did not mention. He probably didn't mention it because integrity, and restraint are among his good qualities. I will mention it here because it adds to what I view as shabby treatment. I am once again baffeled as to this consistent trend towards the Federations most productive members. In Master AhPo's article he mentions that he served as the chairman of the board. You may have noticed that he only served one year. I can assure you (as I was there) that the reason he didn't get re-elected to a second term had nothing to do with performance. If it was based on performance no one would have been able to unseat Sa Bom Nim in his quest for a 2nd term. Instead he was strong armed from office...by a power play engineered by Sa Bom Nim C. S. Kim. He threatened to leave the federation if he wasn't elected to chairman. Subsequently the members of the board, especially some of the newer ones were subjected to a strong lobby effort to elect Master Kim. The vote went around 3 times and it was tied. I could see from Master AhPo's face that it pained him to be in a position of disharmony with another senior member of TSD. With all the grace of a true champion he withdrew from the vote, so as not to further devide the board. The result of the election is now a matter of history...besides the fact that the newly elected chairman was one of the worse in federation history, as nothing new was done under his tenure...he actually never finished his term as he resigned mid-term from the federation. That was never done before in the history of the Federation. I ask "What did it accomplish?" No don't even bother to answer that question. The new question before you is "Why have the federation's favorite, most loyal sons continually treated with so much disrespect, so little regard for their personal feelings and in such an undignified manner? Isn't warriorship about compassion? I will say this from my heart...so those who listen may hear...MASTER AHPO IS MOO DUK KWAN! I AM MOO DUK KWAN! Senior members deserve better. Many of us would still be there if the federation had continue to represent our constituency in the same manner it did when we first placed membership with the organization. I continue to wish all my seniors, friends and associate the very best and I miss you all greatly. Yours in Tang Soo Do, C. Ferraro
